What a beautiful day it was Saturday! In my opinion that was the perfect spring/summer day. Not too hot and not too cold.

This weekends CSA bin  contained

  • 8 radish
  • 10 rhubarb
  • Mesclun mix or head lettuce
  • Pac choi
  • Lots of spinach
  • 8 green onions
  • 4 hakurei
  • Herb- cilantro

Many of you are probably wondering what is hakurei and what can I do with it? Hakurei are like mini turnips. You can roast, boil, or fry them. Pretty much whatever you want. For dinner tonight we chop them and fried them up with some other veggies for a stir fry type side with our pork chops. I’ve also seen delicious looking recipes for honey glazed hakurei that I hope to one day try! Let us know how you use your hakurei. We love to hear your creative recipes and I know our other CSA customers appreciate the ideas.  Post them in comments here or on our Facebook page.
