Once again this year we are attempting to grow some of our own produce in our backyard garden. We started our seeds in February with dreams of wonderful tomatoes, peppers and even eggplants. I should say we started our garden in the fall when we planted our garlic that we then covered for the winter.

We planted our seeds in eggs flats which I thought was a brilliant idea. We had no idea if it would work or not but we had great success. Once the plants were growing we then transferred them to small cups. We had over 100 plants taking up space in our small kitchen.

On the May long weekend we planted half of the plants into the garden and today we finished the rest and planted some seeds.

Here’s our little helper planting spaghetti squash seeds.

These are our garlic, bell pepper and beefsteak tomato plants. We also have Roma tomatoes, eggplant and spaghetti squash planted. We plan to add cucumbers and maybe zucchini.

Do you have a home garden? What do you grow??
