It’s hard to believe that our second year of working with Orchard Hill Farm has begun! We are so excited to be partnered with Ken and Martha again and can’t wait to deliver more of their awesome organic produce to our customers.

The first bin may seem small to those who aren’t familiar with a CSA. With a CSA you are getting what is in season and grown locally. We are at the start of the season now so the bins are filled with the ‘basics.’ By mid July they will be overflowing with zucchini, tomatoes, and peppers among other things. There is not much better than a fresh salad made with mesclun mix, tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers from our CSA bins (unless it’s from your own garden…updates on our 2014 garden adventuress coming soon!).

So our kick off bin today includes:
-12 rhubarb
-1 pac choi
-mesclun mix or a head of lettuce
-spinach or arugula
-8 green onions
-1 bunch of asparagus

I can’t wait to share with you more recipes and ideas for using these great items in the coming months. If you ever have a great recipe to share please comment here or post to our Facebook page!
